IGNOU Project / Synopsis Formulation guidelines and Submission Last Date.

IGNOU Project submission last date

Last date to submit project / Synopsis / Internship / dissertation is 31 December 2025 for TEE December 2025 Session. Student can submit project in online mode also. In this case student need to upload PDF copy.

For June 2025 Session Project / Synopsis submission last was extended upto 30 June 2025.

IGNOU Project / Internship/ Synopsis last date and submission guidelines

IGNOU Project report submission link and assignment submission link is activated together for all academic session and programme. ODL Student has both the option to submit assignment in both online mode or hard copy (offline ). Online mode student (LMS student)  need to submit project / synopsis only in online mode at LMS or at Project submission portal online. Submission link is opened time to time according to University schedule. 

The IGNOU Project viva may take place in June, July, August  (For June Session ) or in December, January, February ( For December Session) as decided by your Regional Centre. Keep checking website and Email for viva intimation.

IGNOU Project / Intership Formulation Process

Student need to prepare two identical copies of the final report. One for Regional center and other is student copy for reference. ODL mode Student can submit the hard copy report to their respective Regional Centre. IGNOU Assignment to be submitted in hard copy at Study center. IGNOU Project evaluation process

Formulation of project differs from programme to programme. Student need to read and follow the project manual while start preparing for project work. IGNOU Project evaluation is broadly divided into two parts efforts put in documentation and overall Presentation

Part 1 - Evaluation of Project report book - This covers the Project documentation part. It  includes introduction and Review of Literature, Rationale and significance of the Study, Data Analysis, Methodology, Results, Discussion and Conclusion, Implications, Future suggestions & Limitations. The designing of report  should include the desired features and operations in detail as mentioned in your programme manual.

Basically, this assessment and marks allocation is based on the quality of your report,  professional attitude of writing reports, overall understanding of cases and objectives,   technical merit of the project and the project execution. This involves to assess the quality and depth of the intellectual effort you have put into the project. This helps the examiner to assess your grasping of subject matter and cases.  

Part 2 - Viva Voce - In this component of evaluation students get chance to present their knowledge and skill to the examiner. Other than the questions related to the project related areas and the courses concerned, student may be asked to demonstrated the project. While appearing for the viva-voce, it is mandatory for student to carry the identical student copy of the report on Viva day.

The Viva voce in not mandatory for all the programme. For more details refer your project manual

IGNOU Project / Intership Viva Date

IGNOU has provision to conduct viva for the report submitted by student for few programme. Report evaluation process has two component. First is evaluation of report for which separate mark is allocated. Second component is viva voce. For few IGNOU Programme viva is not applicable such as MBA , MCOM etc. To know, if the viva component is applicable to your programme, please refer your project manual.

The Project Evaluation Fee applicable to Projects w.e.f January 2023 Admission cycle is as under: This fee can be PAID via IGNOU Samarth Portal using exam form submission Link (Project Fee)  .

1. Up to 4 credit Project work : Rs.300
2. Above 4 credits Project work: Rs.500

Using this portal student can submit project/ dissertation/ field work journals/ internship reports. Student should not upload assignment/ synopsis etc. in this portal, it will be rejected. For DECE04 of DECE programme, separate link will be opened shortly for submission.

Read general guidelines while submitting IGNOU report.

  • 1. The Original Project Report is to be scanned in a single PDF format file for one Subject/Course.
  • 2. Ensure that while uploading the final Project Reports, the Proposal Proforma (Synopsis) is duly approved in original is attached, along with “Synopsis” and Bio-data of the Project Guide and Certificate of originality is duly signed by both the student and the Project Guide.
  • 3. All the required filled in annexure as demanded by Project manual should be attached in final report.
  • 4. Incomplete submission of the Project Report will not be considered for evaluation.
  • 5. Incomplete submissions will be removed from the portal once the last date is over. You will have to upload your submission again for the next session.
  • 6. Reports sent via Email will not be considered and will be rejected without intimation.
  • 7. The University will not entertain any correspondence with respect to incomplete submission of Project Report after the last date of submission.
  • 8. Make sure scanned pages are clear and not blurred, sequence is correct, pages are well lighted and not dim;
  • 9. The learner must ensure that while uploading the Field Work Journals for CSWCJS/ PGDCOUN/ BSW/ BSWG/ MSW/ MSWC Programmes after completing internal
  •  assessment marks from the respective Study Centre. The learner may also contact the Programme Coordinator of the School of Social Work for further information in this regard.

10.The IGNOU Project / Internship Cover page must contain the following details

  • 1.Title of the Project Report / Dissertation / Internship / Practicum/Field Work
  • 2.Name of the Student
  • 3.Programme Code
  • 4.Enrolment Number as mentioned in the ID card.
  • 5.Regional Name and Code
  • 6.Course Code(s)/of attached project
  • 7.Mobile No. and E-mail ID

11.The viva-voce of the Project Report/ Internship Report will be conducted under certain guidelines by the concerned Faculties under Regional Centre. The students are advised to contact the concerned Regional Centre in this regard.
