IGNOU Re-evaluation rule, form and result status 2025 (revised).

What is IGNOU Revaluation

IGNOU has a provision of Revaluation of answer scripts. Re-evaluation means answer scripts will be re-checked by another Evaluator.  if any student is not satisfied with the result, such students can apply for re-evaluation. In re-evaluation, answer script is re-evaluated by the other evaluator and marks are re-allocated. Such students can apply for re-evaluation within 40 days from the date of result declaration.

• Revaluation fee is 750/- rupees per paper.
• After revaluation of answer scripts the result will be declared on the website under revaluation link.
• The better of the two (original marks and re- evaluated marks) will be taken into consideration and updated in the GC.
• Revised reevaluation notification, read the instruction carefully.

Re-evaluation is not permissible for Projects, Practical, Assignments and Seminars etc.

How to Apply for IGNOU Re-evaluation ?

Student need to submit online application form. Re-evaluation form for the paper(s) must be submitted online within 40 days (earlier it was 30 days) from date of the declaration of result. Re-evaluation FEE is Rs 750/- Per Course/Paper. Fee is to be paid online.  After filling the mandatory information, click the "Save" button to generate Payment Link. Student is facilitated with scanned copy of his/her answer script via Email-ID provided in the Online Form or the Photocopy of Answer script via Indian Postal service.

IGNOU Revaluation Result Download

IGNOU revaluation result status can be seen online. The link for revaluation and TEE result is same. Student need to select the revaluation option from the drop menu. Then select revaluation session and in the last enter your Enrollment number and submit the form. 

The revised marks/grade after re-evaluation is intimated to the student and updated on the IGNOU website.

Obtaining Photocopy of Answer Scripts

After the declaration of result, if the IGNOU Student is not satisfied with the marks awarded, they can request the University for Photocopy of answer Scripts on payment of 100/- per course.

• The request for obtaining Photocopy of Answer Scripts by the student must be made within 30 days from the date of declaration of result.
• Request has to be made online and payment has to be done in electronic mode only.

How to Count 40 days of result declaration to Apply for  IGNOU Re-evaluation ?

Date of Result declaration for the paper / course is mentioned along with result paper/Course  wise. As and when paper/course marks is received from the Regional Evaluation centre, it is updated by HQ in the result portal with dates for each course/paper separately . Since all the paper/Course result is not declared at a time, hence 40 days is counted from the date of publishing result for that particular paper. Based on the calculation if you feel 40 days is not completed then you can apply for IGNOU Re-evaluation online.

Why Mark is not changing after IGNOU revaluation

• The first reason may be revaluation result is yet to be declared.
• The second reason can be, after reevaluation result, the better of two marks will be retained ie. Old marks Vs Re-evaluation mark . If Old marks is higher then it will be retained same in the grade card.
