Notification Explained in simple words
Recently IGNOU has issued notification regarding the extension of admission validity upto TEE DEC 2021 and exemption from appearing examination for the First Year courses of UG and PG programme.
Many of learner may have several query regarding the same and hence the notification explained below in simple words.
Extension of Programme Validity upto TEE December 2021
The programme validity of all students whose normal / extended / readmission programme validity was coming to an end in TEE June 2021 is being extended upto TEE December 2021.
The validity of course registration of 2 Years (in case of MP/ MPB students ) will be auto extended (i.e courses registered from December 2018 semester onwards, will be eligible to appear in TEE December 2021)
The extension of the programme validity is being given to students to appear in the TEE only, for their already registered courses.
No Fresh registration of any leftover courses, which has not already been registered (prior to June 2020) will be allowed.
However, to help the students to complete their degrees, only change / correction of already opted courses (i.e. duplicate course opted, last chance for exam, less credits) etc. are allowed.
The students will be eligible to submit their assignment project dissertation, thesis etc. and do their incomplete Lab work in respect of their left over courses, during this extended validity period up to TEE December 2021 (refer SED notification dates 01.09.2021)
Exemption from appearing in the Term End Exam of the First Year courses of UG and PG programme for TEE June 2021.
The students of following BACHELOR & MASTER Programme (ODL) who were enrolled in the First Year of the Programme in JULY 2020 Admission Session and were eligible to appear in the TEE June 2021 for their first year paper are exempted from appearing in the Term End Theory Exam of the first year courses. Their marks/ grades will be assigned based on the average marks / grades obtained by them in the Term End Exam of the second year courses.

Examination for the second year courses of the Bachelor Degree Programme registered in July 2020 admission / RR Session will be held in TEE December 2021 Session. Such learners were eligible to take exam in TEE JUNE 2021 Session and could not write exam as University had conducted TEE JUNE 2021 only for Final / Semester.

This exemption is not applicable to other component such as Assignment, Practical Exam, Project, Dissertation, Internship, Field work journals etc.
TEE Dec 2020 : Conducted for all eligible learners of all programme.
TEE June 2021: Conducted for only final year/Semester learners of all programmes
Adjustment of Exam Fee Already Paid:
Exam fee paid for TEE June 2021 session for the exempted courses will be adjusted against the examination fee payable for the second year courses.
Please Note Following Key Points:
Other programmes, except the above mentioned , are not covered under the exemption scheme of this notification, as the TEE for the first year/ Semester for such progamme have already been conducted in the TEE June 2021 Session.
The result / marks/ grades in the TEE of the first year courses covered under the exemption scheme mentioned above will be updated by the university only after the completion of the TEE of the all courses of second year.
The student who do not want the exemption, may appear for the exam of the first year courses in the TEE DEC 2021 or afterwards till the expiry of the maximum duration of the programme subject to the fulfilment of the other eligibility condition.
The exemption scheme is applicable for all the courses of the first year on account of Covid-19. No partial exemption is admissible.
