Know Guidelines and Activity Calendar - JULY 2025 New Students

As a new student, once the IGNOU Admission is confirmed, student should know the sequence of activity and calendar of events for smooth study. It is important for student to know few IGNOU terminology and flow of activity.  Information given below is equivalent to face to face or Virtual Induction meeting. Here you will know the below terms in detail.

Confirmation of Admission and other details

After the confirmation of admission student details is uploaded on the IGNOU website under Registration detail page. Student can check confirmation status and subject detail on this portal. If your admission status is not displayed then please wait. It takes nearly 2 - 3 month for finalization of data.

Download IGNOU Identity (ID)

As a first step, When your IGNOU admission is confirmed then IGNOU Student ID Card is generated online. This ID Card contains 10 digit enrollment number and you need to download Identity (ID) Card Online easily in few steps. All Student need to create New Account on IGNOU Samarth portal to download IGNOU ID Card.

IGNOU Study Material for ODL and OL Learner

Since IGNOU offers distance learning, hence book or study material is sent only for student who has taken admission in ODL (Open Distance Learning) mode. If any ODL student has not received books by post then they can download study material from e-gyankosh and use till the receiving of hard copy study material. Student who has taken admission in online (OL) Mode will not be provided hard copy book and they need to study with soft copy material on LMS (Learning Management System) portal.

  • For OL Mode learner, LMS user ID and Password is sent by email from COE, Delhi. 

IGNOU Classes and Practical - Online or Offline

IGNOU Counselling class is conducted in hybrid mode. It means Class is conducted in both offline and Online mode based on total number of students admitted. IGNOU induction and counselling class is scheduled by the Study Center / Regional Center after all the admission form is processed. Student need to attend the class offline / online as decided by Regional Center / Study center. Class schedule is sent by email / Website / Facebook.

IGNOU Assignment Activity

IGNOU assignment is an important part  and mandatory for your academic activity. You need to write one assignment for each of your courses registered. Assignment should be neatly prepared and hand written. Check assignment rules, Assignment writing tips and front page format. Click here to download Assignment and know submission last date. Assignment last date is extended every session.

July 2025 batch -  for all SEMESTER based Master and Bachelor Degree Programme 1 September 2025 to 31 October 2025.
July 2025 batch -  for all Certificate Programme 1 September 2025 to 31 October 2025.

 

IGNOU Exam form and Datesheet

IGNOU exam datesheet is published online well in advance so that student can plan their exam preparation. Student need to submit IGNOU exam form online and pay the examination before the last date in order to appear for exam. Hall Ticket / Admit card need to be downloaded after filling the exam form. IGNOU Re-registration (RR) for next year

Taking Admission to next year / Semester is called Re- registration (RR). Student of PG And UG Programme need apply for re-registration (RR) which is also called admission to next year / Semester. RR is not applicable for Certificate and Diploma Students.

July 2025 batch - Re-registration all Certificate, Diploma  Programme Not Applicable

 

Exam Result and Grade Card

IGNOU has two separate portal to check the Exam Result and Grade Card status. You can check the Result and Grade Card status in details after examination

After successfully completion of entire programme student can apply for IGNOU Convocation online. IGNOU extends Student Support Services (SSS) to its learners via various channels. Any Old or new student can use these support services through online or Regional Center or study center.
